"This not-so-secret swimming hole is just 15-minutes inland from Currumbin Beach and the perfect place to escape the crowds. Here in the valley, kids swing on ropes and leap off ledges into the cool, fresh water while parents lounge in the sun. Dogs are welcome and there are picnic tables, a barbecue area, toilets and a local convenience store just across the road."

HIT THE TRAIL ON THESE GOLD COAST HIKES
"Distance: 54km Hike time: 3-5 daysThis one’s the big daddy of them all – that’s why they call it the Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walk. Lace up your hiking boots on and prepare your leg muscles for a challenge. You’ll embark on a 54km hike along the rim of an ancient volcano through the most extensive areas of sub-tropical rainforest left on Planet Earth (and as biology buffs will tell you, what little is left of Australia’s remaining Antarctic beech cool temperate rainforest too)."

"A smallish park as far as actual equipment goes, but we like to find the balance between playground equipment and location. You know, kids attention spans can be short and we like to be able to walk to other things!. Queen Elizabeth Park has enough to keep the kids happy for a good period of time with swings, slides, and climbing activities, but where this park wins out is its proximity to the best of Cooly and southern beaches area."

"Right in the heart of Broadbeach and directly south of the Kurrawa Surf Club is Kurrawa Pratten Park. Another large playground area, actually there’s two equipment areas close to each other with great slides, climbing equipment, swings, a flying fox, and ample grass to kick a ball around on. There’s excellent BBQ and picnic facilities and what I love about this park is your right on the beach and opposite the main cafe strip of Broadbeach."

Burleigh Heads is such a great family friendly town and this park is in the heart of everything. You’ve got the basic equipment like swings, slides, and monkey bars, plus plenty of BBQ and picnic facilities, but the kicker is your smack back overlooking beautiful Burleigh Beach with views all the way to Surfers Paradise."
